Eyeshadow Evolution

As a Makeup Artist, I am constantly looking for inspiration and combining different techniques to express my craft to keep me and my clients both updated and interested. Trends in makeup have never before been this strong and key to the overall vision of the Fashion Industry. The evolution of eyeshadow application in particular has changed immensely. Long gone are the days of the perfect, cut out like applications on the eyes that seem to look like the map of the world. We are seeing strong colour with a free and imperfect application all the way up to the eyebrows. Here are some examples of my favorite eyeshadow makeup inspirations happening right now and well into fall 2011...

Inspiring Prostitution

Charlotte Tilbury for MAC Cosmetics talks about creating the makeup and inspiration for the looks backstage for the L.A.M.B. Fall/Winter 2010 show.

"The feeling was 1930's prostitute," Tilbury said in a statement. "Trampy, smoky eye, deep 'rougeoir' lips and beautiful pale skin."

The Best Of Beauty 2009

The Best of Beauty for me in 2009 was the very powerful return of Francois Nars. With his return to backstage beauty for Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 Collection for Fashion Week, he has changed and elevated the beauty world. Nars has not done a show for more than ten years. His return is very inspiring and much needed. I have always had a profound respect for this Artist but I now have a much stronger respect! He is such a MAJOR Industry Leader! And he is the only man I think of when I need an orgasm...LOL! These are a few images that show his talent and genius ideas in beauty...XO
